I've spent forever crawling through the mud
Under the darkened sky
Under the hopeless eye
I've danced with the wolves mother
I've seen the snake shed it's skin
I have lived and I have loved
I have seen the plague
turn people into objects
I have seen the futures
turn into pasts

I have known the trees since they were little
I have seen their branches reach out
How they grew stronger than I'll ever be
I've seen the shadows thicken
Just to make way for a new dawn
